We are a custom travel consulting and planning business. Unlike a traditional travel agent, Travelworthy works for, and is hired by you, the traveler. We tailor our services to fit your individual needs and wants.
Personalized interviews, research, and your interactive feedback drive our planning process. This luxury approach results in a custom trip, mindfully created, just for you. It ensures you optimize the impact of those scarce days away and maximize all the juicy vacation benefits.
This planning model gives us the freedom to recommend the best choice for you, not a travel partner or our bottom line. We have zero incentive to recommend or book certain locations, resorts, adventures, etc.
Don't worry, we still have places and companies we LOVE to work with. It just means that any incentives or discounts another business is willing to offer are passed along to you! We believe this unique process results in the ultimate travel experience.
My life experiences helped develop my advocacy for travel and taking time off to recharge. They also sparked passion for bringing these concepts to others. I believe Travelworthy fills a serious need in today's immersive workaholic culture.
steph history: I've been a passionate planner and traveler my entire life. Even at a young age I was expertly (bossily) directing my family around amusement parks or excitedly organizing the logistics of my next birthday party or family gathering. I continued to rely on these gifts when I went away to college and discovered a love of seeing the world. My twenties were spent traveling The Americas, Europe, and Asia, and living for periods of time in New York, Los Angeles, and various parts of Kentucky and Germany before setting down roots in the windy city of Chicago.
Pre-Travelworthy I spent twelve years working in public accounting where I served clients and led large teams. While working on a variety of high-intensity projects, I was able to travel all over the country and world. This globetrotting earned me a reputation among friends and family as the go-to planner for all things travel, and so Travelworthy was born.
You can usually find me obsessively scheduling my next trip or Season of the Year events. Other passions include but are not limited to: wine and cocktails, dining out, self-love and improvement, being outside in nice weather (not too hot, please), and spending time with my awesome friends and family. But adventures of any kind with my husband, Jake, and the cutest black cat on the planet, Cash are my fave.
other street cred: I hold a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. I'm still afflicted with the travel-bug and regularly spend time exploring new lands. In addition to planning epic trips for Travelworthy’s clients, I work as the Operations Manager of a Relaxapalooza™, a Chicago-based relaxation and yoga festival and am pursuing my 200hr yoga teaching certification.
'My husband and I have used Steph’s services on several occasions. Each destination was different and after getting the big details planned on our own, we just didn’t know where to begin to fill in our itinerary with the smaller details. That’s where Steph saved the trip. Instead of wandering around, gambling on what might be just an “OK” place to eat, we set off on our trip with many options for the BEST places to eat. And they never once disappointed! She also recommended things to do according to how active we felt like being. It removed all of the stress about planning the trip and introduced us to so many things we never would have found on our own! Now I call on Steph for every trip we take because she makes it so fun, easy, and hassle-free, just the way I want my travel to be.'
'Steph is amazing! She coordinated all our group travel which included planning for 35+ people every couple of weeks in various locations around the country. She always followed through to ensure all details were taken care of and planned everything for our in-person meetings and most importantly, our off-site dining and entertainment excursions. Steph is such a personable individual who truly cares about one’s experience. She has an eye for detail which as any seasoned traveler knows, is very important to having a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. Steph is definitely Travelworthy in my book!'

'Steph and I have traveled together extensively over the years, to Spain, Germany, Japan, and many more. For each trip, Steph crafts an itinerary that matches the temperaments, wishes, and abilities of everyone on the trip. Through Steph's thorough research, we never miss the best sights and activities, but also find lots of "off the beaten path" gems. Steph has a special knack for selecting restaurants. I'll never forget some of our meals together from spiessbraten cooked over an open flame in Germany, to inventive small plates in Chicago, to unmatched seafood and sushi at a tiny restaurant, tucked in a back street in downtown Tokyo. Steph is also skilled at managing complex transit routes. Juggling train timetables and local transit can be the most stressful part of many vacations. Steph's attention to detail makes trips to exotic locales enjoyable and fun.'
'It was my first time in Chicago and I wanted to make sure we left no page unturned in this beautiful city. Before our trip, Steph and I had briefly discussed some of the off the must-see’s of Chicago. She suggested the botanical gardens as one of the must-see locations. My husband and I were very interested in this option so we decided to book our time with her. My husband & I spent a full day with Steph and she gave us a nice history lesson with regard to the different neighborhoods we drove through on our way to the gardens where she suggested we have a late lunch at their café. The food (organic/homemade) was spectacular and reasonably priced! Over lunch we decided to map out the different gardens we wanted to visit (there were many to choose from). It was nice that Steph was able to give us her suggestions in order to make the best use of our time. She was very friendly, funny, extremely knowledgeable - I don’t think we would have ever made the decision on our own to visit the gardens on our own, however, I am very happy that she suggested this option. It was one of the best Botanical Gardens I have ever visited! After our amazing tour she dropped us off at a location with plenty of bars and restaurants so we could walk around and check out the different spots. She also suggested us her personal favorites in the neighborhood in addition to some must-do’s touristy things for the rest of our vacation. Steph was an amazing tour guide! This was a very positive experience and we will definitely be using Travelworthy for our future travel needs! Thank you again!'
